SPRAT beacon

SPRAT beacon

This beacon has been developed by ELAUL to ensure the discreet beaconing, compatible with the use of night vision binoculars, of the French Army’s crossing bridges.

The beacon is equipped with a tilt sensor allowing the automatic cut-off of the electroluminescent sheet when the beacon is no longer vertically positioned. The cut-off is done in 14 seconds, a delay that ensures the continuity of the beaconing in case of handling error, but also allows total discretion after this delay. This device also allows to save the energy of its lithium battery. The lighting is instantaneous in vertical position: this ensures the safety of the beaconing. A switch allows to turn off the beacon completely.
